Your child's school needs you.
Over the past decade, a strong emphasis had been placed on parental involvement in schools. With lower funding levels, school campuses have a more critical need for parent volunteers than ever.
Consider volunteering at your student's school. Each campus has its own unique needs, but they all do have needs. Here's how you can help.
Get in touch with your campus volunteer parents program (VIPS) coordinator. Your school's front office staff can help you with the contact. Campus VIP programs vary from campus to campus, but they all have a common goal -- improving the educational experience for our students.
In addition to local campus initiatives, Fort Bend ISD has multiple opportunities for volunteering. Visit the FBISD website or call the Volunteers & Partnerships office at 281-634-1109 to learn more. The links below are from the FBISD website and will provide you with information about district-wide programs.
Fort Bend's programs include Student Mentors for children who need some adult support, the Shared Dreams program that provides clothing and toiletries to more than 1500 students with need, and Career Day, where you can share career opportunities in your field with secondary students.
If you think that you will want to volunteer to help out with at your student's campus, Fort Bend ISD will require a criminal background check. The background check can be done online in just a few minutes on the Fort Bend website. Just CLICK HERE to go to Background Check on the FBISD website.
